Our members are driven by a desire to contribute positively, embodying the gracious love of the Sikh community. These rules are in place to benefit our community as a whole.
Preamble
- By using this website, you acknowledge your acceptance of and agreement to adhere to these rules. These rules are applicable to all communications conducted on this platform.
- Noncompliance with these rules may result in the editing or deletion of posts, as well as warnings, infractions, or bans on user accounts.
- GSC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify these rules without prior notice. Members may be requested to reduce the size of their signatures if they are deemed too lengthy. It is your responsibility to regularly review and ensure compliance with these rules.
- GSC reserves the right to edit, remove, move, or close any thread when it is deemed necessary.
- The content of all posted links must adhere to GSC’s rules and guidelines.
- While we welcome members from diverse backgrounds and beliefs, those who do not share our Sikh beliefs are required to respect these beliefs, even if they do not personally subscribe to them.
- Membership at GSC is open to individuals aged 16 and above.
- Each member is allowed only one account. Multiple accounts (“socks”) are not permitted unless extenuating circumstances exist. In such cases, please contact the admins via the contact form.
- GSC and staff cannot be held responsible for any advice given or posts made on this site. All advice and posts reflect the views and opinions of the individual poster.
Blasphemy and Contempt
Blasphemy, insults, or mockery directed at Sikhism or any aspect of Sikh beliefs, practices, or the Sikh community is strictly prohibited. Honest debates about Sikhism are welcome, but derogatory remarks are not allowed. Contemptuous comments regarding Sikhism or Sikh practices are also discouraged.
Vulgarity and Profanity
Avoid posting or linking to violent, disturbing, graphic, or sexually explicit content. Profanity or foul language is not tolerated, including the use of punctuation, symbols, or acronyms to bypass profanity filters.
Flaming and Goading
- Treat all members with respect and courtesy through civil dialogue.
- Avoid personal attacks, name-calling, or any form of ridicule against fellow members or groups of members on GSC.
- Goading, including images, cartoons, smileys, or post ratings meant to provoke, is not allowed. Do not quote and edit another member’s post to change its meaning.
Harassment
Respect the experience of other members on this site. Making false accusations or persistently attacking others in public forums is not permitted. Respect requests from other members to cease personal contact.
